Culinary Historians of Chicago
announces
CHC Scholarship Program
Dear Members and Friends:
The Culinary Historians of Chicago is preparing for its first ever scholarship program. On April 4, 2004, CHC is celebrating its 10th Anniversary with a special presentation, "Dining Through The Decades," at the Culinary and Hospitality Institute of Chicago.
At this gala affair, CHC will reminisce about fond memories of the city's colorful food history, including some of its famous restaurants like the Berghoff. The evening's keynote speaker is noted food writer William Rice, and a review of CHC's history is being given by well-known, food historian Dr. Bruce Kraig, president of CHC, who will also announce the scholarship program.
This is an exciting time for CHC as we prepare to launch this major event. Its purpose is to raise funds for the scholarship program, and because we are a not-for-profit group, we need the support of the business community to bring this to fruition.
Your support through a monetary or in-kind donation can help make this fundraiser a smashing success.
The CHC Scholarship Program will be formally announced on April 4, 2004 and the search begins for the awards to be given to college students in the culinary arts and food history programs. This scholarship will be the first of its kind in Chicago.
As you know, CHC is dedicated to the recording and education of Chicago food history, and what better way to recognize upcoming individuals who understand the importance of our mission and to keep it moving forward into the future, than with a scholarship.
The program will be promoted through a public relations campaign, and all donations will be recognized in the Anniversary Program Book, going to attendees and CHC members.
Please see the attached Donation Form for details and return it to us by March 26, if you can participate.
Cordially,
Joanie
